Crowdsourcing gives me that opportunity to support my diversity of interests. It keeps me alive with new challenges and interesting projects. Can't get much better than that can you? Oh yeah, and what's my risk? Time. I personally call it play time.

Crowdsourcing the Webby Awards

Calgary, AB — Robinhood Fund, the first social networking community dedicated to granting naughty and nice wishes, was recognized as a 2007 Webby Awards Official Honoree. Robinhood Fund is also the first community to not only crowdsource and grant wishes, but also to be built by community members for royalties.

Hailed as the “Oscars of the Internet” by the New York Times, The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet, including Websites, Interactive Advertising, Online Film & Video, and Mobile Websites. The awards are judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, a global organization that includes David Bowie, Harvey Weinstein, Arianna Huffington, Matt Groening, Jamie Oliver, Internet inventor Vinton Cerf, and RealNetworks CEO Rob Glaser.

The Webby Awards recognize websites for their creative ingenuity, vision and the skill of its creators.

Depending on how “naughty” or “nice” a Robinhood Fund member is, the site’s look and feel will change. “It’s a testament to the hard work of the entire team to create a sticky website that resonates with members,” says Michael Sikorsky, CEO of Cambrian House. “Sharing this success with our staff and community members who stepped up to build the site is a really cool opportunity.”

About Robinhood Fund:

Launched in November 2006, Robinhood Fund is a community made up over 11,000 “naughty” and “nice” members who submit, vote on and donate to each others’ wishes. Over $45,000 has been given to grant wishes. Wishes ranged from funds for a stem cell transplant; to record a hip hop album; to buy an airplane ticket to see an old family member, and more.

RobinhoodFund.com is a crowdsourced product of Cambrian House, a diverse community of creative, tech-savvy and entrepreneurial minds who collaboratively build and commercialize ideas and businesses.
