The Idea

Getting major corporations to hear the voice of the ordinary shareholder and embrace things such as corporate social responsibility or to help overcome shareholder voting apathy through the power of concepts such as CrowdSourcing.

Setup a site where a objective is declared - to gain credibility it would be under the banner of an organisation such as Amnesty International (or your favourite SIG). Donations would be placed - only a few bucks per person - and shares purchased in the company. If enough money were donated and the organisation became a major shareholder then it's voice would be loud enough to drive change from within.

I like this idea. My only concern would be how many times this service would be used. It's auidence is somewhat small.

Good idea though.

Good Luck.

Your right - my explanation was poor, it wasn't meant to be a single-use site.

The site would be where organizations could post their objectives, and people could sign up to contribute. These objectives could be then searched by people, subscribed to, commented on and financially contributed to. There would also be a place for people to post the issues that they would like SIG's to take on and champion.

It would be a combination of something like prosper.com that gathers the financial power of many people together and aligns them with SIG's and ultimately stock purchases of a company.
