How do you intend to get the content Pete?
What incentive is there for ohter do give you this information, after all they want to attract visitiors themselves.

The best thing would be content from the community like wikipedia.

As for companies submitting content this would include a link to the official site giving them a increase in traffic.

People for years have done banner exchange or joined ring groups to increase traffic. This is just one more way.

IMDB (http://imdb.com/nowplaying/) lists release dates as much as six months in advance.

But, I really your idea of a consolidated "coming soon" site.

PeteC, I am classifying this as "yet another good theme for a website". It's a solid enough idea; websites as a category are more or less a medium idea for me. This one is probably capable of generating a lot of ongoing traffic, given the subject matter, so within the category it ranks at the higher end.

Why not just start it up now?

very interesting... sounds like a special announcement and of interest most people easily get their attention by things about to come! I can see good traffic coming..from Yuppies to men including youth sector!

Getting the content is not trivial, nor is organaising it. I am stil trying to figur out how best to organise it I am currently leaing to a blog style as it is so time based.

Great idea, but simple enough for you to go out and do it yourself, eh? Or should I say - a low barrier to entry.
