The Idea

Works just the same as the patch to quit smoking but for Marijuana smokers.
( NOTE: This is not just for quiting smoking, it also has lots of health benifits, most people have trouble keeping food down from things like kemotherapy. )

This could be legal as the amount of THC in a patch would not be worth the cost of rolling up the patch and smoking it.

I thought of this idea when I was...

I thought of this idea when talking about quiting smoking with a friend.

I don't think THC is physically addictive the way nicotine is, so this would really be a THC delivery system rather than way to help quit. And since THC is regulated (in the US at least) in ways nicotine isn't, you'd have some nasty legal complications.

This idea could be a total bust ( pun intended ) or it could be 10 years too early?

Who know's but still the food and drug approval/testing takes forever, could even take 10 years.

eh i don't think so man. People could just cover themselves with them and ferment in their appartments.... Thats not something I'd like to see

Even if this was possibly it can not work with in the cambrianhouse format.

Well I disagree with that.

I can't tell you the number of times I have got drug ads in my email.

If the item could be made and goverments would allow it to be sold without a prescription CH would be great for premoting it.

Medical Marijuana is real and we all know it.

Wearing the patch would be a nice alternative.

If you want to quit smoking, throw away your hash and pipe.

Wow

Thats done.

No patch needed.

Wow Patrick_Jones I can't believe how rude your comment is..

I made it pretty clear in my idea that it was to help people who suffer from things like kemotherapy.

( I lost a family member to cancer)

If your comments are just to drive others ideas down and keep your score up then you had a weak idea to start with.

I think comments should be to help trouble shoot the idea and more of a community brainstorm.

This would have to go hand in hand with therapy/meetings etc.

I see too many potential issues...
How do you keep kids from getting the patches?
Who would buy a patch to quit an illegal substance?
To mass-produce, you would have to have A LOT to THC... Legally, that just aint gonna happen. =[

Does not seem feasible as a startup for people outside the medical / pharma industry. Sorry ;-(

I just read my last comment on this and it came off as a little harsh.
I apologize PeteC. Keep the ideas comin'! =]

I think the patch would need to be prescription or behind the counter.
If people are willing to buy the patch to quit smoking cigarettes I'm sure they are willing to spend money on the Marijuana Patch. Even if it's their girlfriend that buys it for them as a hint to quit smoking.
Lets not forget all the people with cancer
http://americanmarijuana.org/ has some great stuff on shrinking tumors.

Jill your right the medical association would grab complete control of this

i can hardly stomach the anti-marijuana rhetoric. i do believe that the smoking part of marijuana is a drawback. thus, a medical patch to help deliver THC would be most excellent for all its practical uses. don't they already have these, though?
