Not freeish. Not freesque. It's free!
A movie a day, much like woot.com that only sell one product per day until sold out this site would have a feature movie each day.
You would receive a txt message to you phone, e-mail you or even a automated system that call you and leave a voice mail message. During the middle of the day so you can better plan your night and not waste time hunting at soon to be obsolete video stores.
The site would have a trailer option if you didn't want to be contacted.
You can full screen or watch them windowed.
Much like other sites there would be a dashboard at the top that would show your interaction, writing a review or purchase of a movie.
Participants would be rewarded with credit to purchase movies.
How would this make money?
You would pay a small fee to watch each movie and the site would have ads, donate and option of buying the DVD.
New streaming high quality videos which are near dvd quality have inspired me and so had low quality limited time videos.
Movie buffs will enjoy the interaction and sharing comments.
Unlike other sites like netflix doing online streaming the interaction between members would be the driving feature.
free movies. and the only one getting caught is the site.. you are not liable of whats on the site...
I like this idea. Especially the part about offering DVD sales for the movie playing .
Yes, there is many illegal sites currently showing videos out there.
This would show only legal motion pictures. Much like Itunes but more current. Offering them on the release date of the dvd.
The site would lean more towards Hollywood/Bollywood block buster type movie much like old pay-per view but you would not be restricted to a start time. ( Previously you had to wait )
The purchase would be valid for 24 hours.

I don't think anyone should think of Video Hybrid as competition as I'm pretty sure it's an illegal site. There's no way and hell any third party site would get those companies to agree to licensing terms. If they did it would have been on the front page of the Wall Street Journal.

Don't forget the Indies!

Legal:
* We do not host any videos on videohybrid.com, nor do we upload videos on to other sites. Our entire site only uses about 5mb of space.
* We are non-profit, free of use, and public-access.
* We do not promote piracy. We do not encourage our members to upload illegal videos. This is merely a free public-archive of available links. Contending to use these links or upload videos are based on an individual user’s decision. By uploading videos onto video sites such as youtube, users have electronically agreed to not submit said videos and are breaking contracts with these sites.
They found a way to surpase that..
Alot of these site exist. and the big media companies know about it. as techcrunch posted them all...
They've existed for so long. but nobody seems to care as they dont drive thtat much traffic. if they go youtube size thats when we have a problem. as long as a startup makes more money then the mediacompanies then theyre real mad
AndyDoan perhaps you should add the option of purchasing the videos when the project is complete to your FilmChamp/Fundable Films idea.
Then you could have a second source of income from the funded films site.
You'll already have the details, images, production notes, script fragments, and story board of the film from the producer of the project.
Making it more easy for marketing to online viewers.
Yeah. I like this idea.
It could develop a decent niche.
PeteC: The video store is a big part of what we will be offering on the FilmChamp site.
Rizal: VideoHybrid is still a site that redistributes creative works without the permission of the copyright holders. They may be flying under the radar but they are still illegal. Not that I mind. We don't get Adult Swim up here and I'm sick of feeling left out!
Would this name make trademark infringement with Woot?
like the legal side
Great idea. I hate the exercise of walking around video stores. There are good movies, and I don't care about anything else. They needs to be reasonably priced, and this is the perfect model for that.
hows it going with this?
Nah... can't call it Woot Movie... but you can definitely signal the source of inspiration... and call it something like... Woovie!
Another part of the plan that worries me is the purchasing of videos that are being viewed. QUICK tell me five movies you have watched more than once! ...in a last year? I thought so. Most movie experiences are singular. Getting revenue should be focused around the viewing...
Got something to say?
